The Georgia Fund operates in support of the Department of Technical and Adult
Education. Projects that the Fund accepts must have statewide appeal and may not
infringe on technical colleges’ local donor base.

2006 GOAL Car Campaign

Insurance-Education Partnership

The Georgia Fund has partnered with corporate-level automobile insurance
companies to create a program that donates salvage vehicles to technical colleges
for use in automotive technology or collision repair programs. Technical colleges
wishing to receive these donations are placed on the recipient list. Participating
colleges are able to select the type of vehicle needed in their instructional program.
Salvage vehicles are donated to each college on a rotating basis with other colleges
on the list. The Georgia Fund is working with several other companies to acquire
more salvage vehicles each year. Colleges receiving these donations can apply for
state matching funds through the DTAE TechMatch program.

Technology/Equipment Priorities

GFTAE is identifying statewide needs for equipment in instructional programs. Board
members will begin community awareness efforts in order to cultivate selected
prospects, including companies, industries and individuals that will support this effort
in the future.
